About Us

A Herring Ltd is a family run business established in 1936 by Amelia Herring and her Sons Cyril and Albert. Initially the family ran the business from a site at Walton, Servicing and maintaining their own haulage vehicles.

The Company moved to its present site on Old Road in Brampton in 1953 where it serviced and maintained commercial vehicles for the local company Trebor Sweets. In 1955 Cyril's son Keith joined A Herring Ltd and continued to expand the business by estabishing one of the largest MOT testing stations in Chesterfield.

Keith's son Timothy joined the business in 1984 followed by Keith's daughter Claire in 1998. In 1995 the company was appointed a DAF and LDV parts and service dealer and now service and maintain large fleets of commercial vehicles, light commercial and private cars.

In 2007 the company opened a new reception and parts department and plan to expand the workshop in the near future.
